I recently found a link to this website about Vivian Maier hosted by John Maloof when I was visiting Sticking to the Point. I have been completely fascinated by it ever since.

I just had to share it so even more people can discover her work. Even as I type that it feels wrong. I'm not sure that she wanted anyone to see them. Vivian Maier lived a rather mysterious life and from what little is known of her she seems to have taken these beautiful photos for the pure pleasure of taking a photograph. She never showed or shared them and some she never even bothered to develop. I am in awe of her dedication to 'art for art sake'. That quality alone makes her rare and beautiful. It's a bonus that her photography is just as stunning.

I am going to be (not so) patiently awaiting the arrival of the book.
